Juan Karlos reveals plans for 2024

IT seems that 2024 will be a busy year for Juan Karlos Labajo, who just unveiled what he has in store for his fans in the coming days.

The 22-year-old singer-songwriter gave updates about his plans through his broadcast channel.

He also took a screenshot of his messages on the broadcast channel and shared it on his Facebook page.

“haha hi im back. ito muna mga ganap natin this year tignan natin alin yung matutuloy sa mga yan late [happy new year] luv u all,” he wrote on his Facebook post.

Here’s what his fans should look forward to:

New singles

According to Labajo, he will collaborate with his “Senior High” co-star Kyle Echarri for a song written in Bisaya.

“Mag release ako ng song with Kyle baka this month tapos Bisaya song siya haha,” teased Labajo.

He added, “Exciting sana magustuhan ninyo.”

In December 2023, a fan page of Echarri on X (formerly Twitter) posted a recorded clip of an Instagram Live video of the two young stars where they played what seemed to be an unreleased track.

A part of the lyrics of the song goes, “Akong kasingkasing.” The fans were quick to notice that it was a Bisaya song.

The Gen Z singer said that he would also join forces with a “female artist” for another collaboration song.

Labajo did not name his collaborator but he hinted that she is one of the “favorite” female artists in the country.

‘Sad Songs and Bullshit’ part 2

The second part of the “Sad Songs and Bullshit” album is set to be released this year.

The first part was released in September 2023, which was composed of nine songs including his hit single “ERE.” Labajo made history last year as “ERE” became the first Filipino song to debut on Spotify’s global chart.

The “Sad Songs and Bullshit” album was originally composed of 18 tracks but Labajo decided to divide it into two parts. The first album was composed of “songs for love turned into songs for sadness.”

But the second part of the album will be different this time, said the “ERE” hitmaker.

“Mga medyo happy songs naman tipong naka move on na hahaha jusko tagal ko nang naka move on so dapat ma release na yung mga songs ASAP,” he said.

The exact release date is still unknown but Labajo had said the “Sad Songs and Bullshit” part 2 will be dropped in early 2024.

Acting projects

Labajo also teased plans for new acting projects for the small and big screens.

According to the singer-actor, he might join another television show.

“Baka mag join ako sa isang tv series soon finalizing lang,” he revealed.

Apart from this, he said he would star in another movie.

“And then may movie, tapos after ng shoot nun, baka pumunta kami ng Canada, US, and other countries na fina-finalize pa namin, para makipag jam sa mga kababayan natin doon,” he shared.

Labajo assured his fans that he would give more updates about his 2024 plans, and asked them for their support.

“So far ‘yun yung mga ganap natin this year so need ng love and support ninyo para gumanda ekonomiya ng bansa natin,” he said.

“Ingat [kayo] lagi at lagi mag take ng vitamins hahaha love u all,” he added.

Labajo is starring in the youth-oriented series “Senior High” along with Echarri, Andrea Brillantes, Elijah Canlas, Zaijan Jaranilla, Xyriel Manabat and Daniela Stranner.

The teen drama series is down to its last two weeks.
