IT SEEMS that 2024 will be a busy year for actress Janella Salvador, with several projects lined up for her. Good news for her fans, their list of things to look forward to from the Gen Z singer is getting longer.
On Sunday, Star Music, ABS-CBN’s record label, announced that the 25-year-old star will be holding a concert to mark her 10th year in the local entertainment industry.
The musical event titled “Janella Reimagined” will take place on April 19, 2024 at the New Frontier Theater.
“Take your imagination to another level!” Star Music wrote.
Salvador shared the record label’s post on her Instagram story and said, “Here we go!!!!!” along with heart on fire emojis.
Additional details about the concert, such as ticket prices and ticket selling dates, will be announced soon.
This came after the actress renewed her exclusive contract with ABS-CBN last month. It has been her home network since she joined the Star Magic Glee at only 12 years old. Her acting career took off through her debut in the hit daytime drama “Be Careful with My Heart,” which aired on the Kapamilya network in 2012. At the time, she was only 14 years old.
During her contract signing event, Salvador acknowledged the support that her network has given her, despite the challenges that came their way. For this, she said that she will “always be proud” to call herself a solid Kapamilya.
In addition to the concert, Salvador also has forthcoming films: “Under Parallel Skies” with Thai actor Win Metawin and “How to be a Good Girl” with Filipina actress Jane de Leon, whom she has worked with in the 2022 version of the superhero series “Darna.”
“Under Parallel Skies” is set to have its world premiere in Hong Kong on March 11, as one of the special events of the prestigious 17th Asian Film Awards (AFA).
Meanwhile, Salvador’s fans are thrilled about her upcoming concert and said that they are looking forward to seeing her perform live.
A fan even shared a clip of how talented Salvador is in singing and playing musical instruments, in case someone needs a little push to come to her concert.
Other netizens are hoping that Salvador would have a special guest at the event, with some of them suggesting P-pop girl group BINI and R&B singer-songwriter Denise Julia, among others.
Salvador, who started as a 12-year-old “shy” girl in the show business, has indeed come a long way with her years of experience in the industry.
Since her acting debut, the young actress has become unstoppable as she starred in back-to-back projects for small and big screens.
A year after “Be Careful with My Heart” ended in 2014, Salvador already snagged her first lead role in the television series “Oh My G!” She also appeared in several episodes of the fantasy anthology series “Wansapanataym” and drama anthology series “Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK).”
She is also known for her roles in “Born for You,” where she starred alongside Elmo Magalona, “The Killer Bride” with Maja Salvador, Joshua Garcia and Geoff Eigenmann, and of course, “Darna.”
Her team up with Jane de Leon in “Darna” gained immense popularity among fans, who noticed their chemistry despite their characters not being paired romantically. Many of them are still hopeful that the two actresses would star in a Girls’ Love (GL) project.
Salvador also top billed several films, including her debut movie “Haunted Mansion,” “My Fairy Tail Love Story,” and “So Connected.” She recently starred in the horror film “Mallari,” an official Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry last year.
Aside from acting, Salvador is also known for her singing prowess. Her latest single “Blanko” was released in 2020.
She made headlines in 2016 when she was selected to sing a version of “How Far I’ll Go,” the theme song of Disney’s “Moana” in 2016. She performed the song again during the launch of Disney+ Philippines in 2022.
Perhaps fans could look forward to hearing more songs from Salvador as she plans to revive her music career, according to an interview with ABS-CBN last month.
“Before I even fell in love with acting, music talaga ‘yung No. 1 ko. I’ve been singing since I was three, so hindi pwedeng mawala sa akin ‘yun,” she said.
