INTRAMUROS aims to reclaim the title of “World’s Leading Tourist Attraction” at the 2024 World Travel Awards (WTA).
The historic Walled City of Manila competes with 21 other tourist attractions around worldwide, including Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Grand Canyon National Park in the United States, Machu Picchu in Peru, Niagara Falls in Canada, and the Taj Mahal in India.
In a Facebook post, the Intramuros Administration encouraged the public to vote for Intramuros via the WTA’s website.
“Let’s win it for Intramuros. Let’s win it for the Philippines!” it said.
Casting of votes would require them to register and create an account.
Once verified, select the “World” option under the “Region” menu and look for the “World’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2024” category. From there, look for Intramuros, Philippines to vote.
Voting is open until October 20, 2024.
Intramuros bagged the “World’s Leading Tourist Attraction” title in 2020.
In September, the historic Walled City won as “Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction” at the 31st WTA. It bagged the same awards in 2016, 2020, and 2022.
