How to ‘Bloom’ in BINI’s ‘Grand BINIverse’

THREE years after their debut, BINI’s popularity has skyrocketed, leading to historic milestones.

Some of these include being the first-ever group to be the “Rising Star” honorees by Billboard Philippines Women in Music, the first P-pop girl group to accumulate over 1.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, the first girl group to sell out a three-day show at the New Frontier Theater, and the first P-pop group to perform at KCON LA 2024.

Furthermore, on July 26, BINI announced on their social media platforms that the ‘Grand BINIverse’ event at the Araneta Coliseum has been rescheduled from October 4 to November 16 and 17, with an extra show date added. This announcement surprised Blooms, the group’s official fandom, especially those who could not attend the previous concerts.

To make the upcoming event more unforgettable, Republicasia asked three Blooms who had attended BINI’s shows and whose videos gained popularity on TikTok to share their concert tips for BINI’s major concert.

Blooms on TikTok

Christine Mendoza, the “adopted child” of the Arceta Family, hails from Cebu City. Her TikTok video shows her making the “Eyy” sign with Mary Louh Arceta, BINI Aiah’s mother, during the BINI Day at the Arceta family’s restobar.

In a Zoom interview, Mendoza explained that she imitated a circulating screen-grabbed video of Aiah’s Kumu live on TikTok, where the BINI member told her mom to change the background music ‘I Feel Good’ as she was cringing on her part. The elder Arceta found this adorable, leading to her so-called adoption of Mendoza, and even gave the fan an Aiah keychain.

“Sobrang hyper kasi sobrang dami kong nakaing chocolates…Tuwang-tuwa si Tita–Mama na pala. Bigla niya lang sinabi na “Oh sige adopted na.” Tapos ayon tuwang-tuwa kami,” Mendoza shared with republicasia.

The Cebuana Bloom mentioned that she did not expect the video to blow up on TikTok. As of this writing, it has garnered 51.9k likes and 358.8k views.

Meanwhile, Nicole Mae Paclibar and Ina Mae Abaño are close friends from Albay, who attended the BINIverse Regional Tour and BINIverse: The First Solo Concert respectively. In Paclibar’s TikTok video, which received 20.1k likes and 287.9k views, she was shown buying tickets online for BINI’s first solo concert for her friends, including Abaño.

“Pagpasok ko [sa website], ni-try na agad i-add to cart yung SVIP Center, biglang nag-error, wala na daw seats. Try naman ng SVIP Right, wala pa rin. Tapos ni-try naman sa SVIP Left, ayon may na-add. Apat na tickets,” Paclibar narrated.

Before this, Abaño recalled that they had already arranged a flight and accommodation to Manila, even though they hadn’t yet secured concert tickets, calling it a “leap of faith.” As if their prayers were answered, the two were overjoyed when Star Music announced Day 2 and Day 3 of the BINIverse: The First Solo Concert in response to public demand.

Concert Tips

  1. Bloom Outfits

When preparing for BINI’s upcoming major concert, it’s essential to show your enthusiasm as a Bloom through your outfit. Consider the concert’s theme, the official color of your favorite BINI member, and the look of your bias. Your outfit will be a great way to express your support and connection to the music and the group.

For Mendoza, whose first concert experience was BINIverse in Cebu, she wore an outfit inspired by the group’s song “Salamin, Salamin.”

The Cebuana Bloom also recommends you wear an outfit that shows who your bias is: “Feel ko mas maganda ‘pag peg mo yung bias mo. Syempre lilingunin ka, “Ay parang si Aiah ‘to ah.” Feel ko mas maganda ‘pag bias mo yung aura mo [at] yung atake mo.”

Meanwhile, the concert-goer Paclibar emphasized the importance of wearing comfortable outfits, but ultimately, it is your call to dress however you want.

“Wear comfy clothes. Super fun mag-dress up when attending a concert pero please wear comfy clothes. Pero ano ba naman yung 1 day na tiis-ganda para sa magandang outfit di ba? Whatever makes you comfortable, then go.”

  1. BINI Merchandise

Can’t find the right outfit for the concert? BINI merchandise is here to help!

On June 8, BINI_ph posted their limited-edition official merchandise to celebrate their third anniversary. The merchandise consists of T-shirts, a BINI wand, a photocard album, holographic stickers, iron-on patches, a friendship bracelet pack, a photocard holder, and small, medium, and large paper bags.

Oh, shux! Haven’t secured any of these? Don’t worry because Mendoza recommends bringing customized banners.

“Mabilis makita kasi kapag banner eh. Tapos ilalagay mo doon mga gusto mong sabihin sa kanila. Tapos syempre mababasa nila ‘yon. So mas madali kang mapapansin,” Mendoza explained.

Apart from customizing your banners, you can also find official banners for the concert handed over by the organizers outside or inside the venue. To make sure you get one, be sure to arrive early or on time for the event.

Remember, you can bring any or all of the BINI merchandise to the concert, or you can choose to follow Mendoza’s advice. It’s entirely your call. Just ensure that the merchandise enhances your concert experience or catches the girls’ attention. Also, remember to adhere to the guidelines regarding the size of the banners.

  1. BINI Songs

Filipinos are known for singing along with artists at concerts and not following the official fan chant. This shows appreciation for the artists and indicates that the fans listen to the songs.

Although memorizing BINI songs, and not just the hits, is considered a measure of being a Bloom, new fans do not need to worry because you still have more than three months from now to know all the group’s songs.

Mendoza, who just became a Bloom this year, emphasized the importance of memorizing BINI songs, explaining that repeated listening makes the lyrics easy to remember.

“Kasi mine-memorize mo lang din naman kapag paulit-ulit mong kakantahin. Saka magaganda yung songs so mabilis lang siya ma-memorize,” Mendoza noted.

On the other hand, Paclibar and Abaño said otherwise, stating that it does not matter as long as you are enjoying the concert.

Whether you’ve memorized all of their songs or not, what’s important is being able to sing the right tune, know some of the lyrics, and hype up your fellow Blooms. But as stated, you still have over three months to memorize BINI songs to make the most of your experience.

  1. Concert Day

Mendoza emphasized the importance of Blooms queuing properly, citing a previous observation in Manila where the lines could have been more organized. With the upcoming event expecting a larger crowd, it is crucial for Blooms to be disciplined to avoid disorderly queues.

“During the concert naman, enjoy lang. Kasi once in a lifetime lang. So enjoy lang nang enjoy,” Mendoza added.

Moreover, Paclibar asserted that the best way to enjoy the concert is to avoid recording the entire show: “Feel the moment. ‘Wag masyado mag-video. Kung mag-vi-video, siguro hanggang chorus lang ng kanta, the rest, i-enjoy na lang.”

Self-care before the concert

  1. Avoid scammers

Scammers and scalpers consistently linger on social media and take advantage of fans who cannot secure concert tickets. Out of desperation, many fans are willing to pay double the price and trust strangers.

“Please ‘wag mag papa-scam. Bili lang sa legit or official na site na mga tickets. Meron din naman mga legit na seller ng tickets pero maging mapanuri sa mga account nila,” warned Paclibar.

  1. Prepare essentials

Everyone has a unique approach to getting ready, but Mendoza stresses the significance of preparing outfits and ensuring you have all the necessary health essentials.

“Mag-prepare sa lahat ng susuotin at dadalhin kasi you will be busy that day talaga sa concert. Magdala ng maraming tubig saka pagkain. Tsaka yung mga pang-emergency na medicine kasi ‘di naman natin alam yung panahon baka umulan o sobrang init,” Mendoza said.

  1. Beauty rest

If there’s one thing you should do before a concert, it’s to get enough sleep to have more energy during the concert. After all, who would even attend a concert with dark circles under their eyes or feel dizzy amidst the hyped crowd?

Mendoza emphasized the importance of getting sufficient sleep before the concert after experiencing only 4-5 hours due to her excitement for BINIverse in Cebu.

On the other hand, Paclibar and Abaño advised fellow Blooms to rest early to achieve a blooming look on the concert day. This way, you could arrive at the venue early and collect freebies such as banners and photocards. They also added that you should drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and stick to your skin-care routine.

Now that you have read these tips, you still have over three months to prepare for the ‘Grand BINIverse’ and make yourself bloom at the concert. But for now, the most important thing you should do is to stay updated on the ticket-selling dates and secure your most-wanted ticket.
