THE family of singer Hajji Alejandro confirmed his passing through his manager today.
In a Facebook post of GR Rodis, she shared the joint statement of the Alejandro family announcing his death.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad and Son, Angelito “Hajji” T. Alejandro,” the statement read.
The family is also asking for privacy as they grieve for their loss.
The iconic OPM singer had been battling colon cancer. He was 70 years old.

Alejandro serenaded the Filipinos with his love songs like Nakapagtataka, May Minamahal, Panakip Butas, and Di Ba Pwede. Another signature song of his is Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika.
Alejandro gained the monicker “Kilabot ng Kolehiya” in the 1970s with his good looks and charm, and of course his undeniably smooth voice, garnering shouts of admiration from his young female fans during his performances.
