Glenfiddich, known as the world’s most-awarded single-malt Scotch whisky, has continued to impart its excellence to the next generation with this year’s edition of the ‘Where Next Club’ program.
The program aims to search for and reward an innovative venture that can create a long-lasting impact both in the Philippines and the world.
“Glenfiddich, which launched the Where Next Club Program last year has developed a stepping stone for entrepreneurs and businesses embodying the core values of the brand,” said Kate Osmillo, Philippine Brand Ambassador for Glenfiddich.
With the introduction of the Where Next Club in the country, the ultra-premium and family-owned heritage brand seeks to provide perfect avenues for novice Filipino entrepreneurs and startups to explore beyond their comfort zones and level up the playing field in business.
This year, Glenfiddich has partnered with three esteemed business people in the country who represent and embody the core values and vision of the brand to serve as the program’s panelists.
One of them is Manny Ayala, the current Managing Editor of Endeavor Philippines, a global nonprofit organization committed to accelerating the growth of High-Impact Entrepreneurs.
He has been instrumental in providing support to 30 different companies, generating over 500 million dollars in revenue last year and over 29,000 jobs in 8 years.
Also on the panel is Anne Gonzales, the Co-Founder and President of Terry S.A, a retail company housing coveted brands such as Havaianas, Dupe, Bensimon, Common Thread & Aura Athletica; and Martin Cu, a current partner at 500 Global, an early-stage venture fund leading the growth equity investments in Southeast Asia.
Gonzales is a recipient of Go Negosyo’s 55 Inspiring Women in Business last 2016 while Cu is regarded as a builder and scaler of one of the top startups in Southeast Asia.
The panel will provide strategy and one-on-one mentorship to the chosen startup and its founders.
When asked what qualities they are looking for in picking a participant that they deem worthy of winning this year’s program, the three highlight that they must have grit and commitment to pursue and solve something bigger than themselves.
“I hope to really find someone who has a big problem that they are trying to solve; a startup that focuses on making the lives of Filipinos better,” Martin Cu added.
Glenfiddich will also be providing a One Million Peso non-equity dilutive grant to the chosen startup.
