Get to know SB19’s celebrity crushes!

EVERYONE has celebrity crushes, and celebrities like P-pop sensation SB19 are no different.

The P-pop boy group—composed of Pablo, Stell, Josh, Ken and Justin—revealed their celebrity crushes during their appearance in “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Monday, August 26.

Host Boy Abunda asked the phenomenal quintet several questions with two options for answers, but they had to drop the name of a person when they were asked about their celebrity crushes.

SB19’s leader Pablo said his celebrity crush is Canadian actor and musician Keanu Reeves, who is known for his leading roles in hit action films like the film series “The Matrix” and “John Wick.”

Reeves had been reportedly cast in “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” as the voice of Shadow.

Rapper Josh said he has a crush on Yeji of the South Korean girl group ITZY. Yeji is ITZY’s leader and main dancer, who debuted in 2019 alongside members Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna. 

ITZY—known for their songs “WANNABE,” “LOCO,” and “Not Shy,” among others—held the Manila leg of their “Born To Be” concert on August 3 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Meanwhile, Maris Racal remains the celebrity crush of SB19’s main vocalist and “The Voice Generations” coach, Stell.

The Gen Z actress and singer had been making noise for her role as Irene Tiu in the hit series “Can’t Buy Me Love,” starring Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan. Racal was paired with actor Anthony Jennings, who played the role of Snoop, in the series. Many fans found chemistry in their unlikely tandem in the show, giving them the love team name “SnoRene.”

For Justin, SB19’s youngest member and vocalist, his celebrity crush is Hollywood actress Saoirse Ronan, who is known for her roles in drama films “Brooklyn,” “Lady Bird” and “Little Women.”

Ronan made headlines last month when she tied the knot with her “Mary Queen of Scots” co-star Jack Lowden in a secret wedding ceremony in Scotland, according to reports.

Main dancer Ken, on the other hand, said he does not have a celebrity crush yet.

“So far, ngayon wala pa po,” he told Abunda.

The quintet also talked about their journey, from their pre-debut days, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them, criticisms and how they dealt with them, their success as P-pop artists, and the future of the P-pop industry.

A day before their guest appearance, SB19 graced the premiere night of their “PAGTATAG” documentary film, which narrates their journey to their world tour.

A’TIN’s react

This was not the first time SB19 revealed their celebrity crushes in an interview.

Several fans, also known as A’TIN, have long known that Stell has a crush on Maris.

“Aww ang cute ni Stell apaka loyal. Sana magka-work kayo ni Maris,” one fan said on X (formerly Twitter).

“Ang consistent ni Stell. Honestly nakilala ko sila dahil sa crush niya si Maris,” another fan shared. “I dived into Mahalima and doon ko nakita [ang] talent nila. Nagpuyat sa mga videos. Stell naging bias ko.”

Some fans weren’t surprised that Josh chose Yeji as his celebrity crush.

“Resident liker ng IG posts ni Yeji yan ihhhhhh,” an A’TIN posted.

Another fan agreed to this and said, “One time nakita ko [one minute] palang naka-like na agad si Josh sa post ni Yeji haha well same tayo Josh.”

Other A’TIN said they shared the same celebrity crush as Pablo.

“Pati ba naman kay Keanu Reeves pareho kami ni Pablo huhu,” a social media user said.

“Pau, crush ko din si Keanu bago ko kayo nakilalang lima,” a fan revealed.

Meanwhile, some fans had witty responses to Ken’s answer.

“Celebrity crush kasi tinanong eh, eh hindi naman ako celebrity. Edi walang sagot si Ken,” a fan jested.

Another netizen said, “Ken, pwede mo naman ako i-name drop chariz.”
