Filipinos to star in “Death Note Musical”

Death Note: The Musical is ready to take the spotlight once again as Joaquin Pedro Valdes continues to star in its London run after a successful premiere in Palladium on the West End.

Valdes plays the lead role of Light Yagami who is a high school student who comes across the “Death Note”, a special notebook that gives its users the ability to kill anyone whose name is written on its pages.

The role comes after his performances in Killing the Cat and Heathers the Musical.

The musical is a stage adaptation of its manga by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata which previously had shows in South Korea and Taiwan.

The runs in London are the first productions in English.

Valdes will be joined by Christian Rey Marbella and part-FIlipino casts Janine Somcio, Deena Kapadia, and Charlotte Coggin.
