AWARD-WINNING musical “Miss Saigon” has finally introduced its “Kim.”
GMG Productions announced in an Instagram post that 19-year-old Filipina-Australian Abigail Adriano will portray Kim in the Australian production of the musical.
According to the Opera Australia website, Abigail Adriano started performing at 6 years old. Her first play was “Matilda the Musical,” where she was Alice.
Adriano shared backstage photos from “Miss Saigon” on Instagram, where she wrote: “IT’S OFFICIAL MANILA! IM COMING SOON FAMILY! who’s ready for the heat in Philippines?”
This will be Adriano’s first professional lead role.
In a Facebook post, GMG Productions shared a video of Adriano where she received a video from award-winning Filipino singer Lea Salonga, who originally played the role of Kim.
“One piece of advice I think that I can impart is just to enjoy every moment of the process of creating this character but create something that you can call that is yours. Break a leg and have a wonderful time. Enjoy everything and I hope your run is wonderful and successful,” said Salonga.
“Miss Saigon” is set to run in the Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City. The show will have six ticket options that range from PHP 2,116 to PHP 8,464.
