EXO’s Kai to make April comeback with ‘Wait On Me’ mini album

KAI of popular K-pop boy group EXO is not wasting time – reuniting with his fans a month after completing his mandatory military service.

Kai, whose real name is Kim Jong-in, will return to the K-pop scene with his fourth mini album “Wait On Me.” It will be released on April 21.

On X (formerly Twitter), EXO’s center and main dancer thrilled his fans with a teaser photo from his forthcoming mini album. It featured two versions of Kai: one with blonde hair and the other with black hair.

According to reports, the mini album will contain seven songs, including the title track “Wait On Me” and B-side songs “Adult Swim” and “Walls Don’t Talk.”

The 31-year-old K-pop idol will drop music videos for “Adult Swim” on April 3 and “Walls Don’t Talk” on April 15, leading to the album and its title song’s music video on April 21, based on the promotion schedule of his upcoming comeback posted on EXO’s official page on X.

On TikTok, Kai also shared a video teaser for “Wait On Me,” featuring the artist encountering a system error on his computer.

“Wait On Me” is Kai’s first solo comeback in two years since he dropped his third mini album “Rover” in March 2023. This comes after Kai completed his mandatory military service in February 2025, leaving Sehun as the remaining EXO member serving in the military.

Manila concert

Aside from the album, Filipino fans or EXO-Ls are anticipating Kai’s return to the country for his solo concert tour, “KAION.” It will be held on July 27 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The concert tour will kick off at the Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul, South Korea, on May 17 and 18, followed by shows in Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Jakarta, Singapore, Taipei, Bangkok, Yokohama, and Hong Kong.

Further information about Kai’s first solo concert in the Philippines, including ticket prices and seat plan, has yet to be announced, but concert promoter Pulp Live World advised fans to “stay tuned for more details.”

Kai is not the only EXO member who will return to the Philippines this year.

EXO’s vocalist Xiumin will meet Filo EXO-Ls during his “X Times ()” fan concert on May 10 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.

Pulp Live World announced the seat plan, fan benefits, and ticket prices for the fan concert, which range from P5,500 to P12,500. Tickets will go on sale on April 12 via TicketNet.

Formed by South Korean label SM Entertainment, EXO debuted in 2012 with its first single “Mama.” The boy group made waves locally and internationally with its hit songs “Love Shot,” “Call Me Baby,” “Growl,” “Tempo,” and “Monster.”
