FOR the past few weeks, many social media users have used “Thank you, Beyonce” in their memes and comment sections.
The trend is especially prevalent in short-video sharing platform TikTok where many influencers have been making memes–crediting Queen Bey at the end of every video.
Meanwhile, some people use their Queen Bey appreciation to manifest good luck.

Naturally, these are all satirical pieces that have been created by netizens–has it ever made you wonder where this all came from in the first place?
Social media users noticed that other well-known musicians frequently thanked Beyoncé in their speeches and mentioned her at award events, which led to the creation of the meme.
One example of this was when American singer and rapper Lizzo thanked Beyonce during her Grammy acceptance speech.
With Lizzo’s speech thanking Queen Bey, a lot of commenters came to say how that speech just saved her life from the danger ahead of her.
Another example of this was when Adele gave her 2017 Grammy Awards speech. During this speech, she thanked Beyoncé–claiming that she was the artist of her life and that Beyonce was the huge inspiration for Adele’s record composition.
Adele later broke her Grammy award on purpose and shared the piece with Beyonce.
Lastly, the most notable example of this was when Kanye West cut off Taylor Swift’s 2009 VMA acceptance speech by telling the crowd how Beyoncé “had one of the best videos of all time.”
At first, a lot of people (especially the Swifties) saw this as an insult but with the creation of the “Thank you, Beyonce” meme, many netizens began concluding that Kanye West was just trying to save Taylor from Queen Bey.
With many artists thanking Beyonce whenever they receive their awards, many social media users speculated that they fear Queen Bey and what she’s capable of.
This said fear is later connected to the case of American P.Diddy who supposedly was connected with the whole “Thank you, Beyonce” meme.
P. Diddy controversy
In recent months, American Rapper Sean Combs–famously known as “P.Diddy” has been making headlines in the US due to alleged sexual assault and sex trafficking crimes.
On September 17, P.Diddy was arrested by federal agents in New York after being accused in a three-count criminal indictment where he allegedly sexually abused women and forced them into drug-fueled sex parties.
In addition, it was alleged that the 54-year-old musician had “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct” for decades.
Following Combs’ arrest, Beyoncé became the focus of a growing conspiracy theory.
Given that he was close to Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, rumors circulated that any artist who did not share their views would suffer dire repercussions, pointing to the deaths of Michael Jackson, Tupac, and Aaliyah.
But Combs’ alleged sexual offenses simply served to resurrect the strange, long-standing rumors about Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
