THE LINEUP for the first season of “Drag Race: Global All Stars” has finally been released, and Filipinos all over the world are cheering as Filipino drag queen Eva Le Queen has announced that she’s going to be a part of it.
Eva is best known as one of the competitors on season one of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Philippines,” wherein she made it to the final four.
On the show, she was shown to be close friends with fellow drag queen Marina Summers, and was quick to become a fan favorite given her unique, artistic looks, and her witty sense of humor. Who, after all, can forget her iconic “tampalpuke” moment?
Eva will be competing with 11 other queens from different countries, namely: Alyssa Edwards, Athena Likis, Kitty Scott-Claus, Kween Kong, La dama peligrosa, Miranda Lebrão, Nehellenia, Pythia, Tessa Testicle, Soa De Muse, and Vanity Vain.
She will be judged by RuPaul, alongside Michaelle Visage and choreographer Jamal Sims. Other stars from the international franchise will be appearing as judges as well.
In a video entitled “Meet the Queens of Global All Stars,” Eva mentioned that while she made it to the Drag Race Philippines finale without a single win, this time, she plans to make it all the way to the crown.
Her main goal this season? Global domination.
“It’s high time for Asian drag excellence to be in the Hall of Fame,” she said.
RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars, produced by World of Wonder Productions, will premiere the first two episodes on August 16th. It’ll be available for viewing on Paramount Plus.
Here, the girls will be competing for a prize of USD 200, 000, as well as a spot in the international pavilion within the Drag Race Hall of Fame.
Before she was a drag queen, Eva worked as a corporate content manager in Singapore for eight years. After joining an amateur drag competition there, she found her true passion, moving back to the Philippines and eventually pursuing drag full-time.
She then started performing at Nectar Nightclub and also founded Drag Playhouse PH. She’s also called “Miss Eva” by many, as she’s known to provide platforms as well as opportunities for her fellow sisters in drag.
“My dream is to elevate Filipino drag as a more viable profession for people who do the art,” she explained.
Eva explains that she always goes for breathtaking looks, using her body, wigs, and face as a means of presenting a work of art to those she’s performing for.
“I’m representing [the Philippines, but at the same time, Asia in general, because I started my drag in Singapore with the influences of my sisters from Thailand, Indonesia, Hongkong,” she said.
“I know that what I am going to show is a culmination of lots of the beauty, the artistry, the culture, that we all have from that side to the world. And now we’re bringing it to the global stage.”
