‘Dear Evan Hansen’ Set for First-Ever Manila Run This September

FOR the first time ever, Filipinos are going to experience the award-winning musical ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ live on stage! 

GMG Productions has announced that the UK touring production tony winning show is set to make its Manila debut this September at The Theatre at Solaire. 

Dear Evan Hansen follows the story of Evan, a socially anxious high schooler who becomes entangled in a web of lies after a classmate’s suicide. When a letter he wrote to himself is mistaken as the deceased student’s final note, Evan suddenly finds himself gaining the attention and connection he has always longed for. 

As his deception spirals, the musical explores themes of loneliness, mental health, and the consequences of seeking validation through falsehoods.

Hailed as one of the most influential musicals of the past decade, the musical has garnered widespread acclaim, winning four Tony Awards—including Best Musical—along with an Olivier Award for Best New Musical and a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album.

It also made a significant cultural impact, particularly in its portrayal of mental health struggles, social anxiety, and the longing for connection in the digital age— themes that resonated with audiences worldwide.
