Chelsea Manalo lands in Mexico for Miss Universe 2024

BEAUTY queen Chelsea Manalo finally arrived in Mexico, where she will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2024 competition.

The 25-year-old beauty queen donned a white ruffle blouse, a white fur coat, and denim pants as she flew from Los Angeles to Mexico City. She was also seen carrying a mini Philippine flag.

Upon arriving at the Aeropuerto Internacional, Manalo channeled her inner “Maria Clara,” wearing a gold modern Filipiniana made by fashion designer Cary Santiago.

The Bulakenya beauty queen also met and interacted with other Miss Universe 2024 candidates, as seen in an Instagram reel posted by the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) organization.

In another post, Manalo shared the same table at a dinner with delegates from Costa Rica, Portugal, and Peru.

She also posed for a picture with Filipina beauty queens Victoria Vincent and Christina Chalk, who are representing New Zealand and Great Britain, respectively, in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant. The trio competed in the MUPH 2024 competition.

In an interview with Missosology CEO Pawee Ventura, Manalo shared that she could not sleep on her way to Mexico because she was “so excited.” She also had fun meeting other delegates like Miss Trinidad and Tobago and Ukraine.

For this year’s competition, Manalo said she plans to “have fun” and explore Mexico.

“I know there’s so much to see her like the culture, cuisine, and activity that we will be having with Miss Universe,” she said.

Photoshoots

Before leaving for Mexico, Manalo dazzled netizens with her photoshoots where she channeled different characters.

The beauty queen posted a Disney movie-inspired photoshoot, where she dressed as Princess Tiana from “The Princess and The Frog.”

She also showcased the “iconic spirit” of Rosalinda, the titular character in a popular Mexican television series.

Voice for Change

The MUPH organization is encouraging Filipinos to vote for Manalo in the Voice for Change challenge to secure a spot in the Top 10.

In her three-minute Voice for Change video, Manalo advocated for the welfare of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families. She highlighted not only the sacrifices of migrant workers but also the challenges that their families, particularly children, face being away from one another.

The MUPH organization described the Philippine bet’s advocacy as “both timely and essential.”

Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee won the Voice for Change competition in the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, where she advocated for autism awareness.

The 73rd Miss Universe coronation night will be on November 16. Manalo is vying for the Philippines’ fifth crown.
