Generation

Buckle up for the sixth installment of Final Destination

DO you panic whenever a truck carrying tree logs passes by your vehicle along the expressway? Do you ever fear that the screws and tracks of a roller coaster would just suddenly disassemble during the ride? Or are you like me who, for a time, was deathly afraid of riding elevators, not to mention had a great aversion to tanning beds and eye laser surgeries?

If your answer is all of the above, then you, my friend, is part of the generation who was raised by the Final Destination franchise.

For those who are fortunate not to know about Final Destination, allow me to traumatize, er, enlighten you.

It is an American supernatural horror franchise wherein each movie revolves around a group of people who attempts (and ultimately fails) to escape their gruesome deaths caused by freak accidents. And by freak accidents I mean getting sucked by a pool drain to death and getting pierced by a dozen nails from a nail gun.

So far, there have been five movies in the franchise since 2000. And you are in for a treat — or maybe trauma — because a new movie is releasing this year, titled Final Destination Bloodlines.

The film is directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein and written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor. It stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, and Brec Bassinger. Tony Todd returned to reprise his role as William Bludworth, the owner of Bludworth Funeral Homes. The movie will be released after his death in 2024.

Today, Warner Bros. Pictures dropped the first official teaser trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines. The two-minute video featured a tattoo artist meeting his fate after being hung on a ceiling fan through his nose piercing and eventually burning to death.

You can watch the trailer below:

According to the video description of the teaser trailer, the latest chapter in the franchise will take the audience “back to the very beginning of Death’s twisted sense of justice.”

The tagline of the movie, as revealed in its poster, is “Death runs in the family,” which ties up well with the title, Bloodlines

The story will center on Stefanie, a college student who is haunted by a repeated violent nightmare. She journeys home to find someone who will supposedly help her break the curse and save her family from their inescapable gruesome deaths.

Final Destination Bloodlines will be showing in theaters on May 16, 2025 in the United States. It is unclear when the international release date will be.
