BTS’ Jung Kook to make big screen debut with ‘I Am Still’ documentary

Jung Kook, the “golden maknae” of K-pop powerhouse BTS, is set to make another debut—this time, on the big screen.

On X (formerly Twitter), BTS’ main vocalist announced the release of his documentary titled “I Am Still” in cinemas across the globe on September 18.

The documentary will highlight Jung Kook’s journey as a solo artist, from dropping his debut solo single “Seven” in July 2023 to putting out his debut studio album “GOLDEN” in November 2023. “Seven,” which featured American rapper Latto, was also part of the 11-track album.

“Starting with my first official solo track ‘Seven (feat. Latto)’ and throughout the promos for my studio album ‘GOLDEN,’ I had a year filled with golden moments of happiness. Thanks to all the love that you gave me,” said Jung Kook in Korean, translated into English in the video announcement.

Jung Kook shared that he embarked on a long journey to release “GOLDEN,” which he described as “a series of continuous new challenges.”

The documentary will also narrate all the moments he connected with his fans, collectively known as ARMY, from different countries and the “many behind-the-scenes stories” he didn’t get to share with them, according to the K-pop idol.

“I Am Still” was first announced in July, the same month BTS shared the news about Jung Kook and Jimin’s new travel show titled “Are You Sure?!” It premiered on August 8 Disney+.

Excited Filo ARMY

Meanwhile, SM Cinema announced on Thursday that tickets will go on sale on August 21, at 8 p.m. Ticket prices, however, have yet to be announced.

Of course, Filipino ARMY are ready for the documentary’s Philippine premiere, with many of them inviting their co-fans to watch “I Am Still.”

“Sana magandang quality na photocard ang freebie eme,” said one netizen on X.

Aside from the documentary, fans also look forward to celebrating Jung Kook’s 27th birthday on September 1. Filipino ARMY has prepared various activities, including cupsleeve events, for the highly anticipated occasion.
