BTS’ Jin helps run a ‘bizarre’ B&B in new Netflix show

K-POP superstar Jin of BTS is taking on a new role in a new Netflix show: a staff member in an unusual bed and breakfast (B&B) in South Korea.

The 32-year-old singer, whose real name is Kim Seokjin, will make his Netflix debut through the forthcoming Korean variety show “Kian’s Bizarre B&B,” starring alongside webtoon artist and entertainer Kian and actress Ji Ye-eun.

The streaming platform released the show’s official teaser on Wednesday, March 12, which opened with Kian conceptualizing his B&B that will be established on Ulleungdo Island.

Living up to the show’s title, the B&B is not a typical lodging establishment in the city that is easily accessed by visitors. Kian’s B&B is located in an area one cannot possibly imagine—in the middle of the ocean.

The yellow B&B has no doors on the first floor but has a rock climbing wall.

The teaser showcased the trio’s chaotic and funny side as they eat with bare hands, go down a slide, and clean facilities such as a portable toilet while a roll of tissue paper flies in the air.

Netflix also dropped the show’s poster on social media, featuring the three celebrities and their bizarre B&B.

In a press release, Netflix said “Kian’s Bizarre B&B” follows how Kian, BTS member Jin, and Ye-eun “navigate the hilarious highs and lows of hosting for the first time.” It added that viewers can “expect plenty of laughs, relatable mishaps, and heartwarming moments” from the show.

The first three episodes of “Kian’s Bizarre B&B” will be available on Netflix starting April 8, with new episodes dropping weekly for three weeks.

Cast announcement

Jin’s participation in “Kian’s Bizarre B&B” was first revealed in August 2024, two months after he completed his mandatory military service. He is the first BTS member discharged from the South Korean military.

Ye-eun, who appeared in the hit Korean variety show “Running Man,” was also announced as one of the “lovely employees” of “Kian’s Bizarre B&B.”

“Kian’s Bizarre B&B” is created by Jung Hyo-min, Lee So-min, and Hwang Yoon-seo.

‘Run Jin’

Aside from the forthcoming Netflix series, Jin hosts his own variety show called “Run Jin.”

Its latest episode, uploaded on BTS’ official YouTube channel, featured Jin, Korean actor Shin Seung-ho, singer Son Dongpyo, and comedian Nam Chang-hee engaging in various fun games like “Rock, Paper, Scissor,” “Red Light, Green Light,” and “Mission Relay.”

Jin, along with his fellow BTS members, is set to release two new projects ahead of their expected reunion in 2025. Currently, members RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook serve in the military.

J-Hope, on the other hand, has begun his “Hope on the Stage” world tour, which includes a two-day show in the Philippines.
