Bronny James invited to NBA Draft Combine

UNIVERSITY of Southern California (USC) Trojans guard, LeBron Raymone “Bronny ” James Jr., 19, is medically cleared to play in NBA Draft Combine this May in Chicago before the much awaited NBA Draft 2024 in June.

The son of L.A. Lakers superstar Lebron James, continues with his dream to play alongside and be the first father-son tandem in the league.

Despite the aftermath that the USC freshman have been through due to cardiac arrest and a procedure to repair congenital heart defect last year, panels of NBA Fitness to Play says that Bronny is fit to be drafted and play in the NBA league.

The NBA Draft Combine that this year’s 78 prospects will have to participate in pre-draft activities that players will put through drills, measurements, athletic testing, medical examinations, interviews, and team scrimmaging.

According to NBA Draft analyst at ESPN, Jonathan Givony, the official measurement that Bronny James recorded at the draft combine, per Bleacher Reports.

Height without shoes: 6’1.50″

Standing Reach: 8’2.50″

Wingspan: 6’7.25″

Weight: 210.4 lbs

Where USC freshman’s height seems controversial as he’s been listed to 6’4″ for his USC bio page, yet documented as 6’1.50″ in NBA Scouting Combine that would leave Bronny somewhat undersized to be a point guard.

With the results, that leaves basketball fans the benefit of the doubt that young LeBron wouldn’t be drafted because of his height and is still not yet conditioned to be in the league.

In April, James Jr. announced on his social media account his interest to be in the NBA while maintaining his college eligibility, and entering the NCAA transfer portal.

Will Bronny and LeBron play on the same team?

All eyes are on the eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers power forward LeBron James as the father-son tandem is being expected once Bronny has been drafted by any of the NBA teams.

Fans are all hoping that LeBron and Bronny will play on the same team if the LA Lakers drafted him, since, sources say that LeBron will extend his contract to the team for two years despite the unsuccessful NBA 2024 playoffs against the Denver Nuggets.

From previous years, LeBron James is consistent to achieve his goal that he wants to play with Bronny before his retirement, “My last year, I will play with my son.”

For now, the NBA league future seems to be blurry for Bronny James, but one thing is certain, that the hope between LeBron and his son will continue to light up throughout this journey.
