WHO would have thought that netizens would be seeing Taylor Sheesh and Bretman Rock in one frame? Well, it has just happened.
Taylor Sheesh, Manila’s preeminent impersonator of American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, appeared at the hotel room of Filipino-American social media star Bretman Rock to perform during the birthday lunch of the latter’s cousin Keiffer, or Miss Kaye.
On TikTok, Bretman shared a video of Taylor Sheesh walking into the hotel room while lip syncing to Cruel Summer and imitating Swift’s hand gestures.
He fanboyed over the drag performer and said in the video that it was “the best day of my life.”
“Yall we were LIVING!!!” he also wrote in the caption.
The video has now 1.8 million views, as of posting.
Another clip from Bretman’s Instagram live showed Taylor Sheesh lip syncing to another Swift hit, Style. She was clad in a Blue sparkly dress, similar to Swift’s bodysuit in her Midnights performance for her The Eras Tour .
Bretman could be heard singing along to the song in the background.
The interaction between Taylor Sheesh and Bretman overjoyed the netizens, with some of them saying that they never thought they would see the two together.
Meanwhile, Taylor Sheesh shared her selfies with Bretman on X, where she expressed her admiration for the content creator.
Taylor Sheesh, whose real name is John Mac Lane Coronel, gained traction among thousands of Filipino Swifties when she headlined her own version of The Eras Tour in a shopping center in Quezon City. This mall show also caught the attention of international media outlets.
The Philippines was not part of the Asian leg of The Eras Tour, which will only be staged in Japan and Singapore next year.
Bretman, who is based in Hawaii, returned to the Philippines for the late celebration of his 25th birthday in Palawan.
He has been sharing some clips of his Palawan trip on Instagram. Among the activities he did on the island were snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, driving a boat, and even recovering from a stingray sting.
In one Instagram post, he was seen eating tamilok or woodworms for the first time.
He also expressed support for local products by attending the ArteFino Festival, which aims to showcase Filipinos’ creativity and craftsmanship.
In an Instagram post, Lokal Home Art Fashion shop shared that Bretman took home its signature Bul-ol Tapis and Jakenpoy Bubble pants at the event. It also shared several photos of him wearing the piece.
Bretman, an Ilocano born in Cagayan, last visited Manila in March for the launching of his memoir You’re That Bitch & Other Cute Lessons About Being Unapologetically Yourself.
