IT SEEMS that BLINKs, or fans of K-pop supergroup BLACKPINK, will celebrate two special events on February 14: Valentine’s Day and Jisoo’s return to the entertainment scene.

On social media, BLACKPINK’s vocalist dropped a short teaser of her upcoming project, featuring a running polygraph machine. The clip ended with flashing the date February 14 and Jisoo’s name.

“Coming soon,” wrote the K-pop star.

While nothing much has been revealed yet about her new project, some fans speculated the teaser was meant for Jisoo’s solo comeback to the music industry.

Several reports from South Korean newspapers said Jisoo will release a solo album on Valentine’s Day, citing her agency Blissoo.

Further details about the album, including its title and number of tracks, are yet to be announced.

This will be Jisoo’s first album under Blissoo, which she established in February 2024.

She made her solo debut in 2023, releasing singles “FLOWER” and “All Eyes on Me.”

‘Best Valentine gift’

The excitement among BLINKs leveled up with the release of the short teaser, with some saying her comeback is the “best gift” they could ever receive on a Valentine’s Day.

“Who needs a valentine when Jisoo is here,” one fan posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“She is coming OMG, and she’s giving us the best Valentine gift ever,” another BLINK said.

Instead of the usual Valentine’s Day dinner, one fan suggested having a streaming date instead.

“Rescheduling my dinner plans with my man instead we can have a streaming date,” the fan said.

Others look forward to Jisoo’s new music release, stressing that it is going to be a masterpiece.

New series

2025 will be a fruitful year for Jisoo as she is set to star in the forthcoming South Korean drama “Newtopia,” alongside Park Jeong-min.

In the series, the singer-actress will play the role of a young woman named Kang Young-joo who is determined to find her boyfriend Lee Jae-yoon (played by Jeong-min), who is in the military, amid a zombie virus outbreak.

“Newtopia’s” official trailer shows Jisoo carrying a golf club as she walks toward a crowd of zombies on the street.

“Move! I have to get to Jae-yoon,” she exclaimed.

Meanwhile, Jeong-min continues to fight zombies with the military force.

Directed by Yoon Sung-hyun, “Newtopia” will premiere on February 7 on Prime Video.

Jisoo last starred in the 2021 Korean drama “Snowdrop,” alongside Jung Hae-in.
