BLACKPINK’s Jennie makes runway debut for Jacquemus

JENNIE Kim, a member of the world-famous K-pop group Blackpink, made her runway debut for Jacquemus’ 15th anniversary “La Casa” cruise show in Capri, Italy, on June 10.

Many fans have been waiting for this debut since the brand posted snippets of the artist clad in a red towel and black shades, surrounded by Italy’s beautiful scenery.

On June 13, Jennie posted videos and photos of her walking around in designer Simon Porte’s clothing. With her hair slicked back into a low bun, she donned a simple but elegant black dress, zebra-print heels, and a blue purse, adding a pop of color to the ensemble.

Many well-known celebrities such as singer Dua Lipa and actress Gwyneth Paltrow attended the event to celebrate the long-standing success of Jacquemus as a brand.

Since her runway debut, Jennie has received a flurry of positive comments from fans, with many saying that she looked stunning, and others deeply admiring her runway look.

“You are the most beautiful person in the world,” one wrote.

“Jennie is our queen.”

Beyond BLACKPINK

For years, Jennie has been making a name outside of the music scene. After being hailed by many as one of the best rappers in the K-pop scene at present, she started branching out to different careers.

She made her official acting debut, for example, on Sam Levinson, Reza Fahim, and The Weeknd’s HBO show, “The Idol,” where she played a character named Dyanne for five episodes.

She’s also made waves numerous times in the fashion industry. She has modeled for brands like Calvin Klein and Hera Beauty in the past, for example, and even became the brand ambassador for Chanel in 2017.

Who, after all, could forget her iconic 2023 Met Gala look of a white dress paired with black gloves and stockings?

Given her trajectory thus far, Jennie is sure to be a part of more runways and would have no shortage of brands coming her way. It seems like it’s nowhere to go but up for this 28-year-old star.
