AIAH Arceta of P-pop sensation BINI had been spotted attending PBA games. Her most recent appearance was during Game 4 of Rain or Shine (ROS) Elasto Painters’ best-of-seven semifinals against TNT Tropang Giga at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.
This was amid her dating rumors with ROS star Caelan Tiongson, which got several netizens wondering if her presence in the match was a “lowkey” confirmation of their rumored romance.
It caught the attention of the 24-year-old singer who issued a lengthy statement on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, addressing hate comments amid speculations about the real score between her and the 32-year-old PBA star.
“I am aware of what has been happening lately, and honestly, it’s interesting to see how it has become such a big deal for some, along with the multiple theories circulating about it,” Arceta wrote.
“It’s also fascinating to observe how quickly noise can grow and how many people can misunderstand so many things,” she added.
The BINI member expressed disappointment over how people around her—whether they were a friend, superior, or even relative—were dragged into controversies.
“Usually, I am just unbothered and let things be because I know what’s truly happening behind all the commotion. But this time, it pains me to see that the people who make me feel safe, calm, and normal, and those who contribute to my happiness are being ridiculed and made fun of online,” she said.
Arceta then encouraged the public to treat others with kindness, highlighting that her friends, who have been there for her, do not deserve the hate they have been getting.
“There are so many sides and truths that people don’t see, and I just hope we can all be kind to one another because kindness is free, and we all need it,” she emphasized.
She continued, “I hope and pray that all the hate gets suctioned out and is instead filled with nothing but love. Let’s all be loving and kinder to one another.”
The rumored romance between Arceta and Tiongson was fueled when the former attended the latter’s game at the PhilSports Arena on February 28. It was during Game 2 of ROS’ best-of-seven semifinals against TNT.
Tiongson, who was the seventh overall pick in the 2024 PBA Rookie Draft, refused to speak further about Arceta’s personal life. He, however, considered himself as a BLOOM or BINI fan and said he loves their music.
“I met her [Arceta] through a mutual friend, and she’s a great person,” he said in an interview shared by One Sports. “That’s all I gotta say.”
Tiongson also attended the first leg of the “BINIverse” world tour at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan last month.
While some netizens still ponder the real score between the two, others said Arceta and Tiongson’s private matters should not be pried into.
On Friday, ROS will play anew against TNT for Game 5 of their best-of-seven semifinals in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
BINI, who recently dropped its second extended play “BINIverse,” will headline both days of the Aurora Music Festival on May 3 and 4 in Pampanga.
