Avoid boredom: What to do when classes get suspended

WITH the rainy season in the country comes the many possibilities of class suspensions.

Early today, many schools remain closed after several local government units announced the suspension of classes, due to the heavy rains brought about by the habagat (southwest monsoon).

While many people would see this as good news because it allows them to stay safe at home, some people think they have nothing to do while remaining indoors due to the bad weather.

Want to save yourself from boredom when you’re forced to stay home? Follow this list to make the most out of your day.

Get those zzzs

Instead of thinking about how bad class suspension is, take advantage of the moment by relaxing throughout the day.

Reclaim your energy from sleep deprivation by getting that much-needed snooze. Sleep is one of the essential ways to improve brain performance, mood, and overall health.

Finish pending tasks

If you find yourself with piled-up tasks and paperwork, maybe it’s time to take advantage of your day off to finish pending jobs.

Take the time to work on things that you must do so you can get more free time for yourself in the future.

Be idle

You need not feel required to work just because your classes got suspended. If you have absolutely nothing important to do for the whole day, then just relax.

Work on your hobbies, binge on that series you’re watching. Take the day off as it is and give yourself some rest.

Keep updated

It is important to remain updated with the news so you’re aware of what’s happening around you.

By being updated, you’ll also know how severe the rainfall is in your area–this way, you’ll be able to plan ahead of any potential crisis, such as flooding.

Look after your health

With the rainy season, it is no secret that we’re prone to different types of sickness. Getting sick is something that we cannot avoid but by having to look after our health, we would be able to reduce the risk of getting exposed to it.

Remember that health is wealth.
