ARE you an aspiring young filmmaker who has a story to tell? If so, then here is an opportunity for you to share that narrative with a wider audience.
Beda.Comm, a co-curricular student organization affiliated with the Communication and Media Studies Department of San Beda College Alabang, has begun accepting film entries from senior high school and college students from Metro Manila and South Luzon for “CineBedista 2023.”
The deadline for submission of entries is extended until November 15, 2023.
“CineBedista 2023” is the organization’s annual initiative that aims to encourage students to showcase their creativity and expertise in filmmaking. The 2023 edition’s theme is “Salaysay. Kalayaan. Sining.”
“CineBedista 2023” is divided into two main categories: “Sibol (featurette)” and “Hiraya (short film).”
Entries under the “Sibol” category should only have a duration of five to 10 minutes, while “Hiraya” entries should have a maximum running time of 30 minutes.
If you are interested in joining “CineBedista 2023,” here are the things you need to know:
“CineBedista 2023” opens its doors to students from Metro Manila and South Luzon who are currently enrolled in senior high school or college.
Educational institutions are allowed to submit multiple entries from their students for both categories. However, each production team can only submit one entry for each category.
Entries should be produced between September 2022 and October 15, 2023, but these should not be commercially distributed on television, in theater, or online.
The entries should fall under one of these three genres: narrative, documentary, or experimental.
Narrative films are fictional stories that develop through the use of characters, plot, and conflict. It should captivate audiences through compelling storytelling.
Meanwhile, documentary films represent real people, places, or issues and offer a factual analysis that informs, educates, or raises awareness.
Experimental films, on the other hand, are those with unorthodox storytelling techniques, visuals, and soundtracks that will bring out strong emotions and stimulate thoughts from viewers.
Interested applicants will need to provide a Google Drive link with access to two folders for the registration requirements and film submission.
Registration requirements should be placed in Folder 1, which will contain an accomplished registration form and a scanned copy of proof of enrollment (certificate of registration/enrollment and school ID) of the production crew’s representative (either director or producer).
