Activities to attend to commemorate the Philippine independence

Every 12th of June is a significant day for every Filipino as this serves as remembrance of our independence from the aftermath of the world war.

In modern times, many dedicated people are there to conduct fun activities so Gen Zs would remember and appreciate the special day, and spend this month of June holidays as a great opportunity for everyone to observe independence.

With a theme of “Preserving Our Filipino Culture and Heritage to Unite Generations” this 126th of the Philippine freedom, here are some activities you can sit on.

LIKHA 23

With this year’s theme “Likha Ko, Lahi Ko,” a five-day event of Likha 3 to celebrate Filipino craftsmanship that showcases undeniably talent of 87 Filipino artisans and Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) awardees. This is an initiative dedicated to the third edition of Likha to promote the Philippine traditional textiles, and crafts of esteemed artisans from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The event will run from June 7 to June 11 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum in Pasay City.

Concert at the Park

Thinking of going to Luneta Park to watch traditional dances, and symphonic melodies? If so, ‘Concert at the Park’ is here to brighten up your independence.

The show has something in-store for you for the rest of this month.

Malaya Music Fest

On day two, ParokyaNiEdgar, Mayonnaise, SUD, Maki, and more.

Manila Clock Tower Museum exhibits

Looking forward to seeing the wonders of Manila by visiting the Manila Clock Tower Museum? That’ll be fun and fantastic as we all know how Manila became one of the important pieces of our independence. The exhibit is open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 10:00AM to 3:00PM.

There’s so many ways for us to celebrate independence amidst the modernization that affects someone’s perspective on history. Fortunately, there’s also many people using their platform to let us remember the past and to honor our freedom, and with that, may we never forget to live with liberty.
