JAPANESE singer-songwriter Joji will be coming back to the country to stage a solo concert for his widely anticipated Pandemonium world tour.
In a Facebook post, the 88rising artist announced that he recently added Manila as one of the stops for the concert’s Asia leg.
The act will take place on November 28 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Concert tickets will go on sale starting September 2 at 10 a.m., according to concert organizer Insignia Presents.
To prepare for his comeback show, here are five songs from Joji to listen to to prepare for his Pandemonium concert in Manila.
I just want to make sure you’re okay
I don’t need to know
I just want to make sure you’re all safe
Released as part of his 2017 album In Tongues, Joji’s Will He is an intricate, heartbreaking song that struck the hearts of listeners because of its delicate lyricism.
The song is about recognizing that a former lover has now moved on with someone else. And along with the acceptance comes the regret and longing as the persona wishes that this former lover would never forget him.
You looked at me like I was someone else, oh well
Can’t you see?
I don’t wanna slow dance in the dark
Joji’s Slow Dancing In The Dark is definitely one of his top-charting hits because of its relatability and the sting its listeners feel as they give the song a listen.
This track from his Ballads 1 album released in 2018 contains gorgeous soundscapes that describe a failing relationship and how the persona refuses to settle for a romantic connection that is uncertain, incomplete, and has no vision.
Please just let me go
Let me go, I’ve seen enough
Joji’s discography is his story about the tough times he went through, and the song Demons from In Tongues is an ode to this.
The song is a reflection of his traumatic past and the impact this has had on his life. Not only have the “demons” affected him, they have also influenced how people perceive him.
I heard that you’re happy without me
And I hope it’s true
It kills me a little, that’s okay
‘Cause I’d die for you
Die For You is one of the tracks that comprises his most recent release called Smithereens.
This melancholic tune is about falling out of love and processing the emotions that one acquires after a breakup.
I know that I’m stuck
In this misery
Guess I’m not enough
Like you used to think
So I’ll just run
Run is one of the popular tracks included in his 2020 album titled Nectar.
The song expresses a person’s struggle to continue a relationship they no longer want to be part of.
