New Twitter owner and CEO Elon Musk said he will reinstate former US President Donald Trump to his social media platform.
The SpaceX founder ran a 24-hour poll on his own Twitter Feed Saturday, asking the Twitter community whether or not to reinstate Trump.
“The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” Musk tweeted Sunday.
Why it matters
Since Musk took over Twitter, there has been speculation son whether he would allow Trump to return to Twitter. Trump was ejected from the social media platform for his series of tweets led to the violent attack of his supporters of the US Capitol Building in Washington DC in January 2021.
Trump launched his bid to run for the White House in the 2024 elections.
