The Chinese New Year on January 29, 2025, ushers in the Year of the Wood Snake, a promising time filled with opportunities, transformation, and growth.

For this article, republicasia consulted Feng Shui expert Master Hanz Cua to share his forecast and predictions for the 12 Chinese Zodiac signs and the surprises that await them in the Year of the Wood Snake when it comes to career, wealth, health, and romance. 

“Lagi tayong may disclaimer, ha, may paalala. Na ito pong mga forecast na ito ay hindi po talaga forecast, prediction lamang ‘to. Gabay o horoscope lang. Ikaw po— sa pagiging hands on mo nakasalalay ang iyong tagumpay.”

Rat

Years: 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020

Those born in the Year of the Rat should exercise caution and vigilance as they are prone to frauds in the different aspects of their lives. 

They are advised to stay vigilant against scams, theft, and robbery. In matters of romance, they are urged to tread carefully, as the possibility of betrayal looms larger this year.

Ox

Years: 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021

This will be a year of opportunity for those born in the Year of the Ox, but they should steer clear of unnecessary trouble.

In romance, the Ox and Snake share a harmonious bond, making this a promising year for love and romance— two things that are activated for this sign. 

For those seeking a partner or planning to start a family, the stars align favorably, making it an ideal time to deepen relationships or welcome a new addition to the family.

Tiger

Year: 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022

The Tiger is one of the signs highly activated this year. Their hard work, perseverance, and determination can pave the way to new opportunities.

But the Tiger should be careful about navigating their relationship and career as they are prone to experience more troubles in those aspects. 

Master Hanz advises Tigers to stay vigilant and avoid trouble, especially when they sense it approaching. It’s important for them to remain calm and avoid actions that could escalate the situation.

He added that the year of the Tiger is bound to lose this year, so it’s better to display a ‘wealth ship’ in their home.  

Rabbit

Year: 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023

Those born under the Rabbit sign are bound to hop with joy this year, as they are poised to experience abundance and prosperity in wealth. This is due to the activation of the wealth multiplication star. 

Their luck on wealth would extend to their love life, which is predicted to take a happy turn. 

Those from the year of the rabbit are also encouraged to display a ‘wealth ship’ in the east direction to encourage more luck. 

Dragon

Year:  1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024

The previous year might have clashed with the Dragon’s luck, but this incoming new year promises a recovery for the 5th sign in the zodiac elements. 

Dragons are predicted to achieve great victories in financial matters this year and can also look forward to a thriving and successful love life.

Snake

Year: 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025

Those born under the Snake sign are among the zodiacs expected to clash with the Tai Sui this year, which may bring challenges, misfortune, or disturbances.

However, not all is bleak for the Snake. By staying focused and diligent in their career, love life, and business endeavors, they can still harness luck and achieve success despite the hurdles.

Horse

Year: 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026

The Horse signs now have a ‘blessing star’ for this year. This means that luck would be with the Horse if they get to share their blessings with others. 

Whether it is through helping others reach a promotion or achieve the next milestone in their career, the Horse is advised to help to ensure the flow of blessings and luck on their endeavors. 

The power of the ‘Blessing Star’ also extends to romance and love life. 

To help boost luck, Master Hanz encouraged people to display the ‘Victory Horse’ in their homes. 

Goat

Year: 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027

If the Horse sign seems to be in luck, its friend, the Goat, shares the same fortune, particularly in wealth and career.

Master Hanz advises those born under the Goat sign to stay hands-on and proactive in their career to fully capitalize on the luck coming their way. Although the romance aspect of this sign is not at all bad, it is still better to focus on the source of wealth and opportunities. 

To enhance prosperity, they are also encouraged to display a ‘Money Frog’ in the southwest direction.

Monkey

Year: 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028

The Monkey and the Snake are best friends, so the former could expect a promising year. 

Master Hanz said that this is an opportunity year for the Monkey, most especially since they have the ‘money star’. 

But the Monkey must be cautious because it is also a Tai Sui year for them, which means there can be misfortunes and challenges along the way. 

Master Hanz encouraged the people under this sign to do Feng Shui in their homes and businesses as a precaution. 

Rooster

Year: 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017

For those born in the Year of the Rooster, both the love and ‘wisdom star’ are activated this year, promising a fruitful time in both relationships and intellectual pursuits.

Students born under the Rooster sign are encouraged to study diligently to make the most of the wisdom star’s influence. Master Hanz advises them to study facing the west direction and to place an abacus on their study desk to enhance focus and success.

Dog

Year: 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018

Like the Dragon, the Dog also faced challenges last year due to their clash with the Dragon. However, the Lunar New Year marks their period of recovery and renewal.

This year, the Dog can expect promising prospects in money and wealth, with their bank accounts likely to see an abundance. In their career, they are poised to achieve their goals and reach their planned milestones.

However, the Dog should remain cautious of misunderstandings, as the influence of the ‘anger star’ could lead to potential conflicts or miscommunications.

Pig

Year: 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019

The Pig faces challenges this year due to its clash with the Snake, making it an unfavorable period.

Master Hanz advises those born under the Pig sign to be cautious with their decisions, as this is not an ideal year for major commitments like business expansions or career changes. Aggression should also be avoided, as it is predicted to lead to losses in these areas.

To mitigate some of the negative influences, Master Hanz recommends that people under the Pig sign to Feng Shui their homes to create a more harmonious environment.
