AS many Filipinos step out for the holidays, the Philippine National Police has reminded the public to be vigilant against “akyat bahay” or burglars, who are looking to take advantage of the people-less homes during their Christmas vacation.
On the other hand, some 37,000 police officers were deployed to various villages to ensure that the houses and establishments are secured.
She also asked motorists to check the condition of their vehicles and make sure that they have enough sleep and are not intoxicated.
Meanwhile, for those taking public utility vehicles, the PNP advised the public to protect their belongings from pickpockets and robbers.
They also discouraged the public from posting real time updates on their social media.
