DOST to assist Pinoy inventors in testing and patent

by Kiko Cueto

In a bid to encourage more Filipino inventors, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) had urged scientists to use their program that is aimed to assist Filipino inventors in testing their creations and likewise in registering their patents.

“With this program, binibigyan natin ng proteksyon yung kanilang mga product,” according to Anna Liza Saet, Supervising Science Research Specialist at the DOST’s Invention Development Department.

She said that the program aims to encourage both the young and senior inventors.

Saet also said that inventors should ensure that their intellectual property rights are protected before launching new products in the market.

“We make sure in our assistance na hindi lang mavalidate yung workability ng technology pero mavalidate hanggang sa market,” she said.

The DOST official however, did not mention as to the cash assistance that the inventors can get from the agency.
