Aquino rues co-parenting set-up with ex-partner: ‘Sana mahiram ko naman anak namin’

by Izel Abanilla

ACTOR Carlo Aquino has revealed that the co-parenting set-up he and ex-partner Trina Candaza agreed upon about their two-year-old daughter Enola Mithi isn’t actually being followed.

Aquino shared his feelings about the very limited time accorded to him to see his daughter. In fact, he said he has not seen his daughter for months.

“Nakakaapekto lang talaga sa akin is hindi ko nakikita ‘yung daughter ko since November,” he said in the recent press conference for his upcoming movie “I Love Lizzy.”

“Ayaw ko kasi magsalita ng anything against her [Candaza] di’ba? Kasi at the end of the day, mom siya ni Mithi. Basta nag-reach out po ako. Tinanong ko po kung kelan pwedeng makasama, New Year ba? Kasi usually ganun po,” he said.

The longing father reiterated that Mithi’s time with him and his side of the family is still very much important, especially with his aging parents.

“Wala pong sagot, siyempre importante ‘yung time with me, ‘yung time din with my parents, ‘yung lolo at lola na senior na, sila mommy at daddy.

Calm but charged, he stressed that both as a father and a responsible provider, he should be accorded time to be with his daughter.

“Sana di’ba mahiram ko naman kasi nag-po-provide naman ako sa kanilang dalawa, ayoko nang isa-isahin, ng mga kailangan nila,” he said.

Carlo admits dating new girl

After endless speculations, Aquino finally admitted that he and “rumored girlfriend”, Kapamilya actress Charlie Dizon are now dating.

He said  “Yes” when asked if he was going out with the “Fan Girl” actress.

To clarify, he said he and Dizon are in fact in the “getting-to-know” stage.

The two first worked together in the 2020 series “A Soldier’s Heart” and further got to know each other while on the Star Magic US Tour last August 2022.

At present, the two are filming the Black Sheep upcoming flick “Love on a Budget.”
