ASIA’s multimedia star Alden Richards drew the feels as he made a rare confession about his love life and a girl who almost had been his girlfriend, Kapuso singer-actress Julie Ann San Jose. 

About eight years ago, the then unassuming actor shot to skyrocketing fame via his phenomenal team-up with then break-out star Main Mendoza, hence the birth of AlDub. 

GMA had indeed hit a gold mine with their accidental love team that was made even more comical by the hilarious trio of Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros collectively known as JoWaPao. 

The success of “Kalyeserye” had the entire nation hooked that everyone went crazy over the idea of Alden and Maine ending up together. Even to this day that Maine is set to marry longtime boyfriend actor and Quezon City Rep. Arjo Atayde and Alden having moved on with his career, many of their fans are still, to an extent, delusional about them being together, let alone married with a child. 

With the clamor of the people over AlDub, fans clearly just would not let anyone get in the way. 

But little did the AlDub nation know that behind the scenes, Alden, at that time, was having a brewing romance with Julie Anne which unfortunately, because of his fame, had to suffer and give way to his team-up with Maine. 

Their romance then, according to Alden, was actually getting serious, she almost got to be his girlfriend. 

“It was my fault po Tito Boy,” he said in his exclusive interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda in his show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” 

“I decided to focus muna talaga sa work. Hiningi ko po ng sorry yun sa kanya. It’s a long time, a long time na parang naiwan ko po siya and I’m sure if she’s watching right now alam niya naman po na,” he said. 

He then went on to share what he felt all the while he and Julie Anne were somewhat estranged, or so it seemed, from each other because of their open-ended past. 

“Sabihin ko na po, I never told anyone this, ‘yung part po kasi kay Julie Ann yun po yung parang pinaka mabigat and then when we were doing Sunday Pinasaya that time, since that time that we separated po, ang tagal po namin di nag usap, seven years, almost, ganon po katagal,” he said. 

“And naniniwala rin po kasi ako na time really heals everything and mahirap po kasing ipilit eh na gusto mo naman magkaayos kayo pero yung panahon hindi pa tama kasi sariwa pa po yung sugat eh and hindi po natin madidikta sa puso natin kung kelan gagaling yun,” he added. 

But now, he said he and the “Maria Clara and Ibarra” actress are on good terms.

What peaked his revelation was actually his confession about manning up to his misgivings and closing everything with Julie Anne with a sincere apology. 

“Pag Sunday Pinasaya po, rehearsal, may greenroom po tayo sa studio 7, nung kami na lang dalawa sa greenroom, nilock ko po yung pinto and then I talked to her,” he said. 

“I’m really sorry for what happened, iniwan kita, there’s no one to blame but me and sana napatawad mo na ko and okay po siya kausap that time,” he said. 

“Pagtapos po nung usapan, parang for the longest time, iniiwasan ko rin po siya pero nung nangyari yung moment na yun, may dala pala rin ako and now we’re very much good friends po,” he added. 

He also confessed that he too had an almost relationship with actress-dancer and now first time mom Winwyn Marquez. 

“For some reason po, because of work, busy siya, busy rin ako,” he said.
